Seminar: Izmir, Culture and the Mediterranean

A seminar titled “Izmir, Culture and the Mediterranean” will be held in collaboration with Yaşar University Center for Mediterranean Studies and Faculty of Communication on April 25, 2024, at 15:00, in the auditorium numbered Y011. We are pleased to invite you to join us for the forthcoming event, where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhan Ada will take part as a speaker and the language will be Turkish.
Assoc. Prof., who has been working at Istanbul Bilgi University for over 25 years, is a faculty member of the Department of Art and Cultural Management and Head of the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy and Cultural Diplomacy. Dr. Serhan Ada was appointed as the new member of the Scientific Board of the UNESCO Regional Office for Science and Culture in Venice. Ada, who also served as a Board Member of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO and Chairman of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions Expertise Committee between 2014 and 2018, will continue his new position for two years, which started on January 1, 2023. The Scientific Board, which is one of the governing bodies together with the Executive Board of the The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe, located in Venice, carries out the task of evaluating action proposals submitted for implementation by the Regional Bureau. Specializing in the field of culture and natural sciences, UNESCO Science and Culture Venice Regional Office aims to contribute to the development of UNESCO programs by promoting sustainable development, dialogue, reconciliation and cooperation in South Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean basin through interdisciplinary activities.
